A Message from the Clintonville For Change Chair

I am honored to be elected Clintonville For Change's newest Chair. I look forward to working with the other newly-elected officers and with the club membership in continuing Clintonville For Change's excellent reputation as a reliable and successful Democratic activist organization.

Since we are a Democratic club, our end game is to motivate Democrats to get to the polls to vote Democratic candidates into office, to vote for progressive ballot measures, and to vote against harmful candidates and policies. However, as a Democratic club, I also envision three kinds of club members:

* Members who want to socialize with like-minded Democrats, and/or help out those in need in the community;
* Members who want to learn and/or to educate others on the candidates and on issues;
* Members who want to be activists, who know their stance on politics and on the issues, and who want to interact with the public outside of the club.

Members can - most certainly - be any combination of the above three kinds. It is my intention to emphasize club activities which do not exclude any of these three kinds of members.

I am relying on the club membership, and on the local Democratic community, to express their opinions as to what Clintonville For Change should be concentrating. The club membership provides many points of view, and in my opinion the Chair facilitates the operation of the club: the Chair's opinions and views on candidates and issues are to be given the same weight as those of any member.

Sincerely,

Russ Childers
Chair, Clintonville For Change
